Powered by Life. Inspired by Death.

The Thanatos Project was born to die. It was created to soak up as much rich knowledge about death as possible, with the goal of applying this to the living. Drawing from experience, leaders in the field, clinical guidelines, wisdom traditions, religious text, literature, philosophy, and patients themselves, we identify and work on the painful places that prevent a person from living well before death.

What does this actually look like? It varies greatly. Everyone’s situation is unique. A “one-size fits all” approach doesn’t work in life, and it certainly doesn’t work in death. That is why The Thanatos Project offers numerous pre-packaged products but ultimately the most important work is done between the lines.

About Molly

After a training in the medical examiners office of Brooklyn and spending the next ten years working as a Physician Assistant in the Emergency Rooms of New York and New Jersey, she saw firsthand that many people are unprepared when facing an unexpected diagnosis or event. It was while witnessing this time and time again that she recognized the need for a unique role: one that bridged gaps between the variety of resources available to families and patients. She spent the next several years immersed in the realm of illness and death, compiling wisdom and practical knowledge. She is a member of the International End of Life Doula Association (INELDA), and the Chevra Kaddisha. She recently completed a one-year clinical fellowship in Contemplative Care with the Zen Center in New York City. Molly lives and works in Boulder, CO, and holds a Masters Degree in Health and Medical Sciences and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Neuroscience. She is also active in animal rescue and rehabilitation.
